Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma recently held discussions with six Union Ministers in New Delhi, focusing on various crucial sectors like agriculture, rural development, food security, renewable energy, urban infrastructure, water resources, transport, and finance. The talks aimed at expediting significant development projects and enhancing coordination between the Centre and the State.
During the meeting with Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, responsible for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, the Chief Minister assessed the progress of rural development and employment schemes in Rajasthan. Chouhan commended Sharma’s Gram Vikas Chaupals for directly engaging with villagers and implementing effective employment programs.
Under the leadership of the Chief Minister, the ‘Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin)’ has been successfully implemented in Rajasthan, ensuring employment for all laborers from the project’s inception. Chouhan praised the Chief Minister’s personal visits to villages through ‘Gram Vikas Chaupals’ to address local issues, highlighting his dedication to grassroots engagement.
In discussions with Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, overseeing Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and New & Renewable Energy, Sharma emphasized strengthening the public distribution system and enhancing grain storage capacity in Rajasthan. Joshi appreciated the state’s efficient wheat procurement at Minimum Support Price, attributing it to the effective coordination between the Centre and Rajasthan.
Sharma also met with Union Minister Manohar Lal, responsible for Power, Housing, and Urban Affairs, to deliberate on bolstering Rajasthan’s power sector, urban development projects, metro connectivity expansion, and the introduction of e-bus services. Additionally, the Chief Minister engaged with Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil to review the progress of water-related projects like the Jal Jeevan Mission and strategize for enhancing the state’s water infrastructure.
In a separate meeting with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Sharma discussed Rajasthan’s development priorities and financial coordination between the Centre and the State. Earlier, the Chief Minister had a meeting with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to assess the ongoing National Highway and Expressway projects in Rajasthan.
