Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma conducted a high-level review meeting at his official residence to address concerns related to the Panchna Dam stakeholders. The focus was on water management, irrigation infrastructure, and safeguarding farmers’ interests. Sharma stressed the need for timely implementation of decisions to ensure lasting benefits for the region.
During the meeting, officials were directed to expedite repair and enhancement works at the dam to improve operational efficiency and water storage capacity. Additionally, all lift irrigation projects associated with the dam must be completed within the specified timeframe. This move aims to facilitate irrigation in higher-altitude areas where canal water access has been a challenge for farmers.
Sharma highlighted the importance of strengthening irrigation infrastructure to boost agricultural productivity and provide reliable water access to farmers in the long term. He reiterated the government’s commitment to effective water management and balanced regional development. The Chief Minister urged departments to collaborate closely, monitor project progress regularly, and address any obstacles that could hinder implementation.
To maximize benefits for farmers and promote sustainable agricultural growth, Sharma called for an integrated approach in executing projects linked to the Panchna Dam. The meeting, attended by key officials including Chief Secretary V. Srinivas and Additional Chief Secretary (Water Resources) Abhay Kumar, reviewed ongoing works and outlined plans for the timely execution of decisions made during the session.
