The Rajasthan government revealed the “Rajasthan Semiconductor Policy-2026” on Tuesday, aiming to enhance technological advancement and economic development. This policy recognizes the semiconductor industry’s crucial role in modern technology and global economy growth. It seeks to attract investments, create jobs, and foster skill development and innovation in Rajasthan.
The policy targets various sectors like electronics, telecommunications, automobiles, defense, and the digital economy, positioning Rajasthan as a significant semiconductor manufacturing hub. It plans to draw investments in key areas such as Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT), Assembly, Testing, Marking, and Packaging (ATMP), and sensor manufacturing. The initiative also focuses on promoting local production and creating employment opportunities in advanced technology fields.
To support the semiconductor industry comprehensively, the policy covers the entire value chain from research and design to manufacturing, testing, and packaging. It includes developing dedicated semiconductor corridors in industrial regions like Jodhpur-Pali-Marwar Industrial Area and Kakani Industrial Area, offering top-notch infrastructure and a streamlined clearance system.
Moreover, the policy introduces incentives under the Semiconductor Manufacturing Package to encourage investments. These incentives comprise exemptions on electricity duty, stamp duty, land conversion charges, and reimbursement of costs. It also emphasizes environmental sustainability by providing support for environmental protection measures and promoting projects using renewable energy.
