Rajasthan Minister Kirodi Lal Meena has raised concerns to Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, alleging that Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra and his relative, Rameshchand Punia, acquired OBC certificates deceitfully to gain reservation benefits. Meena has urged for an FIR to be filed and a thorough investigation to be conducted.
Meena’s letter highlighted that Dotasra’s son, Avinash, who secured a position in the RAS-2016 exam, allegedly benefitted from irregularities in the selection process. He pointed out discrepancies in the interview marking system and raised suspicions about certain candidates receiving unusually high interview scores despite doubts about their merit.
The minister further accused Rameshchand Punia and his family members of exploiting forged documents to claim OBC reservation benefits. According to Meena, Punia’s children also obtained state service positions by leveraging these disputed certificates. Meena alleged that former members of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) acknowledged external pressures in recruitment processes.
He expressed readiness to provide evidence to investigative bodies if necessary. Meena cited the case of Garima Jindal from the RAS-2016 exam, who reportedly scored the highest in the written test but received a significantly low interview score. In contrast, Avinash Dotasra allegedly obtained a higher interview score, leading to his selection despite having a lower overall merit.
Meena emphasized the need for a fair investigation into the matter, stressing its impact on deserving candidates, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds. He called for the Chief Minister to swiftly address the issue, ensuring transparency and accountability in recruitment procedures to prevent similar irregularities in the future. The allegations have sparked political controversy in Rajasthan, with no official response from Govind Singh Dotasra or the state government as of now.
