Rajasthan Cooperative Minister Gautam Dak is facing charges after an alleged confrontation with police at Dungla police station in Chittorgarh district. The case, filed by the station officer, includes accusations of obstructing government work and using abusive language towards police officials. The incident gained attention when an audio clip, supposedly featuring the minister using abusive language, circulated on social media, sparking discussions in political and police circles.
Minister Gautam Dak has denied any involvement with the viral recording. In a social media statement, Dak claimed that the audio had been manipulated using technology. He stated, “My voice has been altered through misuse of technology in an audio circulating on social media. I have no connection with this edited audio.”
According to the complaint filed by Dungla police station officer Shaitan Singh, the incident occurred on May 25. Police had called in a resident for questioning and later asked him to bring other family members relevant to the case. The complaint alleges that a former Sarpanch, invoking the minister’s name, threatened a constable at the police station, leading to the minister’s arrival at the station.
The police complaint details that upon arrival, the minister insisted on meeting constables Vishnu and Laxminarayan publicly, where he allegedly used abusive language towards them. The complaint further accuses the minister of becoming aggressive, attempting to use force, and intimidating the police personnel. The incident, which caused mental distress to the station officer, was reported to senior police officials on May 27.
The case has stirred political discussions, with the minister refuting the allegations and claiming the viral audio to be fabricated.
