Rajasthan’s political focus shifted to Dausa as Congress leaders and supporters gathered to honor former Union Minister Rajesh Pilot on his 26th death anniversary. The event, including an interfaith prayer meeting at the Rajesh Pilot Memorial in Bhandana village, witnessed a significant turnout. Rajesh Pilot, a charismatic Congress leader, was remembered for his contributions to national politics and farmers’ causes.
The prayer ceremony commenced at 10 am, attracting early morning visitors to the memorial. Notable attendees included Rajesh Pilot’s son Sachin Pilot, former Deputy Chief Minister, Dausa MP Murari Lal Meena, and MLA Deendayal Bairwa, along with several MPs, MLAs, and senior Congress members. The administration made elaborate arrangements at the memorial complex to accommodate the large gathering, ensuring facilities like drinking water, shaded seating, and parking zones.
Sachin Pilot paid tribute to his father on the anniversary, emphasizing Rajesh Pilot’s dedication to serving the nation and his relentless efforts for the welfare of villages, farmers, and youth. Even after 26 years, Rajesh Pilot remains a revered figure in Rajasthan, especially in Dausa, where he tragically passed away in a road accident on June 11, 2000.
Rajesh Pilot’s legacy endures through the annual tributes in Dausa, symbolizing his profound impact on the region. Starting his career in the Indian Air Force, Rajesh Pilot swiftly rose in Congress, serving as a Minister of State in the Union government. His deep connection with Dausa and grassroots approach endeared him to the people, making him a significant political figure in eastern Rajasthan.
Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also honored Rajesh Pilot’s memory on the anniversary, reflecting on the late leader’s contributions to the nation and the Congress party.
