Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji is set to portray Shivani Shivaji Roy for the third time in “Mardaani 3,” expressing it as a privilege and an honor to wear the police uniform again. She emphasized the deep responsibility that comes with portraying a woman in uniform, citing their extraordinary lives, struggles, and the crimes they combat daily. Through her character, Shivani Shivaji Roy, Rani aims to showcase the remarkable work of Indian female police officers and the challenges they face.
Directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra, “Mardaani 3” continues the franchise’s legacy of impactful storytelling by delving into the dark realities of society. The film sheds light on the daily struggles, sacrifices, and the relentless fight against challenging crimes by Indian female police officers. Actress Janaki Bodiwala joins the cast in a significant role, with the movie scheduled for a global theatrical release on January 30.
The first installment of the Mardaani series was released in 2014, featuring Rani Mukerji, Jisshu Sengupta, Tahir Raj Bhasin, and Anant Vidhaat Sharma.
