Actor Ravi Kishan has landed a significant role in the upcoming film “Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain,” based on the popular TV show with the same title. At a recent trailer launch event, Ravi Kishan addressed the issue of television actors not receiving the same recognition as those in other industries. He highlighted the case of Smriti Irani, a former TV actress who transitioned into politics and secured a prominent ministerial position.
Ravi Kishan pointed out that several TV actors have successfully transitioned to the film industry and even earned National Awards. He emphasized that many TV actors have also ventured into politics, becoming Members of Parliament and Legislative Assembly representatives. Additionally, he mentioned advocating for a pension scheme for television actors who struggle financially, especially those playing minor roles.
The actor disclosed his efforts in introducing a private member bill in the parliament aimed at providing a pension-like scheme, land, and housing for Indian actors working in Hindi cinema. He specifically highlighted the challenges faced by character actors who often have limited roles and financial instability. The bill has been tabled in the assembly, awaiting further discussions for approval.
