India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, accompanied by his wife Rivaba Jadeja, who serves as Gujarat’s Minister for Tribal Development, Primary, Secondary, and Adult Education, recently met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Parliament House in New Delhi. Jadeja expressed his admiration for PM Modi’s leadership qualities and shared his experience of the meeting on social media.
Jadeja’s meeting with PM Modi coincided with his retention in the Elite A category of the BCCI’s central contracts list, where he joins the likes of Shubman Gill and Jasprit Bumrah. Notably, Jadeja has retired from T20 internationals and is not part of India’s squad in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
The latest central contracts list by the BCCI has witnessed changes, including the removal of the A+ category for the 2025–26 season. Senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been placed in Grade B after stepping down from Test and T20I cricket, while Suryakumar Yadav is also in Grade B.
In a significant shift, this season’s central contracts have been awarded to 30 players, down from 34 last year. Grade B includes 11 players, with Grade C featuring 16 cricketers, including rising star Abhishek Sharma. However, notable names like Mohammed Shami, Ishan Kishan, Rajat Patidar, and Sarfaraz Khan did not make it to the contract list.
Jadeja’s recent appearance for India was in a home ODI series against New Zealand, where the visitors emerged victorious with a 2-1 win.
