The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar praised his bowlers, particularly pacers Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, for their exceptional performance in the Powerplay, leading to a convincing nine-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. Hazlewood’s 4-12 and Bhuvneshwar’s 3-5 restricted DC to 75 runs, a total easily chased down by RCB with 81 balls to spare. Patidar commended the bowlers for their accuracy and swing, highlighting their crucial role in the match.
Patidar noted that while there was no extraordinary swing, the early wickets secured by the bowlers were pivotal in maintaining RCB’s control over the game. Stressing the importance of a strong bowling unit in T20 cricket, he acknowledged that bowlers play a significant role in a team’s success, especially on flat pitches. The skipper revealed that RCB had a strategic plan to rotate bowlers in sets of three overs each, adjusting based on the pitch conditions and the performance of individual bowlers like Suyash and Romario Shepherd.
Looking ahead to the upcoming matches, Patidar emphasized the significance of sticking to routines and maintaining discipline as RCB prepares to face Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. He highlighted the team’s focus on taking one game at a time and expressed satisfaction in seeing different players stepping up and contributing to the team’s success, signaling a positive trend for RCB in the tournament.
