Republic Day Parade Awards Presented in National Capital

Following the grand Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path on January 26, awards were given to the best tableaux and marching contingents in various categories in the national Capital on Friday. Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, emphasized that the celebration showcased India’s cultural diversity, military discipline, and the vision of a developed nation.

Sanjay Seth highlighted that the tableaux exhibited India’s progress and culture, emphasizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047. He described Republic Day as a significant national festival that evokes emotions among the 1.4 billion citizens eagerly awaiting the annual tableaux on January 26.

The Minister commended the discipline demonstrated by NCC cadets and Bharat Scouts, citing their performance as a model of ‘New India.’ He mentioned that the displays instilled a strong sense of patriotism and a ‘nation first’ sentiment among the audience. In the Judges’ Choice category, Maharashtra secured the top position for tableaux, with Jammu and Kashmir and Kerala following in second and third places, respectively.

Among the ministries, the Ministry of Culture’s tableau was recognized as the best. Gujarat emerged as the winner in the Popular Choice category, with Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan securing second and third places, respectively. The Indian Navy was awarded the best marching contingent under Judges’ Choice, while Assam Rifles received the Popular Choice award. Delhi Police and the CRPF were honored in the Judges’ Choice and Popular Choice categories among the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).

Dr. Vikrant Pandey, Secretary (Information) of the Government of Gujarat, credited the state’s success to its people. Gujarat’s tableau, themed ‘Vande Mataram,’ depicted the historical evolution of the Indian Tricolour from 1906 to its official adoption in 1947. The artists and designers of the Gujarat tableau expressed pride in their achievement, noting that Gujarat has consecutively won for four years, a remarkable accomplishment.
