India’s Rishabh Pant played a remarkable unbeaten innings of 67 runs off 37 balls, guiding Delhi to a convincing eight-wicket win over Services in the Vijay Hazare Trophy match. Pant’s aggressive knock, featuring four boundaries and six sixes, coincided with the announcement of India’s squad for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand.
Delhi’s bowlers laid the groundwork for victory by restricting Services to 178 runs in 42.5 overs. Harshit Rana took 4 wickets for 47 runs, and Prince Yadav claimed 3 wickets for 28 runs. In response, Delhi chased down the target in just 19.4 overs, with opener Priyansh Arya contributing an unbeaten 72 off 45 balls, including nine fours and three sixes.
Despite losing early wickets, Arya and Pant combined for an 85-run partnership off 51 balls, securing Delhi’s dominant win. Punjab also tasted success as Arshdeep Singh’s five-wicket haul helped them crush Sikkim by ten wickets. Arshdeep’s impressive figures of 5-34 restricted Sikkim to a mere 75 runs.
Punjab’s decision to bowl first paid off handsomely, with Prabhsimran Singh’s quickfire 53 off 26 balls guiding them to victory in just 6.2 overs. The absence of Shubman Gill did not deter Punjab as they comfortably chased down the target, with Harnoor Singh contributing an unbeaten 21 runs.
