The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has decided to escalate its political opposition against the Bihar government by launching a statewide agitation. In a meeting led by Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav in Patna, the party outlined a robust strategy to challenge the NDA government’s policies, which they deem as anti-people. The RJD aims to move beyond mere statements and press conferences, urging its MLAs and senior members to engage with the public at the grassroots level and rally support in every village across Bihar.
The party has devised a dual approach: it plans to vociferously address public concerns during the upcoming Bihar Assembly budget session while concurrently organizing street demonstrations to exert pressure on the government. Criticizing the NDA administration for its perceived failures on various fronts, the RJD leadership feels compelled to channel public discontent. Former minister and RJD MLA Alok Mehta emphasized the party’s unanimous decision to launch a decisive campaign on critical public issues, focusing on strengthening the organization and highlighting governmental shortcomings.
RJD National General Secretary and MLA Ranvijay Sahu launched a scathing critique of the state government, alleging a breakdown of law and order statewide, particularly pointing out safety concerns for women and girls in Patna. Sahu sarcastically remarked on Bihar’s current state being dependent on “God’s mercy,” signaling an impending RJD movement to showcase the ground reality to the government. This meeting holds political significance amidst the state’s current scenario and upcoming electoral contests. With corruption, unemployment, and deteriorating law and order as central concerns, the RJD has transitioned from a passive stance to an aggressive offensive mode.
