Russian air defence forces intercepted and destroyed 37 drones approaching Moscow, as confirmed by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. Debris from the downed drones is being managed by emergency services in the affected areas. The Russian Defence Ministry reported the successful interception of 145 Ukrainian drones in a seven-hour operation across various regions.

A significant drone attack occurred in Moscow, with 61 drones neutralized in a single day, Mayor Sobyanin disclosed. In a separate incident, a Ukrainian drone strike on the Southern Russia Air Navigation branch disrupted operations at 13 airports in southern Russia. The regional air traffic control center in Rostov-on-Don had to adjust operations temporarily following the attack.

The Russian Ministry of Transport assured the safety of all personnel at the affected facility and stated that equipment assessments were underway. Coordination efforts between the ministry, Federal Air Transport Agency, airlines, and airports are ongoing to manage flight schedules and air traffic procedures in the region.

Russia and Ukraine have accused each other of breaching the ceasefire, with both sides reporting continued attacks. The Russian Defence Ministry alleged over 1,300 ceasefire violations by Ukrainian forces, including drone and artillery attacks. Ukrainian President Zelensky condemned Russian forces for overnight attacks and hundreds of drone strikes along the frontline.

President Zelensky announced that Russia had conducted numerous strikes and assaults on Ukrainian positions, prompting Ukraine to respond accordingly. Despite a ceasefire agreement for Victory Day, both countries have engaged in military actions, with Ukraine initiating its ceasefire with Russia earlier than planned.
