The Sakhi Craft Bazaar, held at the Rann Utsav in Kutch, has become a significant platform for women-led entrepreneurship, achieving sales exceeding Rs 5 crore in just a month. With more than 4.5 lakh visitors, it stands out as a highlight of this year’s Rann Utsav.
Running from December 4, 2025, to January 15, 2026, the Sakhi Craft Bazaar is part of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s efforts to boost women’s economic independence in Gujarat. It supports the government’s focus on creating sustainable livelihoods for women through self-help groups.
Featuring 100 stalls within a specially designed dome, the bazaar showcases products crafted by women from 330 self-help groups across various phases. Not limited to Gujarat, participants come from multiple states, giving the market a national appeal.
Offering a diverse range of products like handicrafts, textiles, pottery, jewelry, and more, the bazaar blends traditional artistry with modern designs, attracting both local and international tourists. The lively atmosphere includes live music and a cafeteria, making it a popular spot at the Rann Utsav.
Tourists find the Sakhi Craft Bazaar a memorable experience, engaging with artisans and learning the stories behind the products. The initiative, backed by the Rural Development Department of the Government of Gujarat, aims to provide consistent market access and better branding for women entrepreneurs.
The Sakhi Craft Bazaar is not just a market but a successful model showcasing how tourism-related projects can empower women and drive inclusive economic growth in Gujarat.
