Sanjay Dutt and Nora Fatehi’s song “Sarke Chunar” from “KD – The Devil” has been removed from YouTube due to criticism of its lyrics and choreography. The makers are now creating a new version with different lyrics, set to release soon. The decision to revamp the song comes amidst the ongoing backlash it has faced.
The release date of the new version of “Sarke Chunar” remains undisclosed at present. The move to rework the song comes in light of the controversy surrounding its content. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken notice of the song’s alleged objectionable lyrics and double entendres.
Advocate and social activist Vineet Jindal has lodged a complaint with the cyber cell of the Delhi Police against the song’s creators. He has raised concerns about the explicit nature of the song’s lyrics, especially considering its availability on various digital platforms. Following its release, the song received widespread criticism for its perceived vulgarity and inappropriateness.
Renowned composer and singer Armaan Malik has criticized the song, labeling it as a “new low” in songwriting standards. Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh has also expressed disapproval of the song on social media, particularly calling out Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt’s involvement in the project. “Sarke Chunar” features vocals by Mangli, penned by Raqeeb Alam, and is composed, arranged, and produced by Arjun Janya.
The film “KD: The Devil,” produced by Venkat K Narayana under KVN Productions, stars Dhruva Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, Reeshma Nanaiah, Shilpa Shetty, V Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, and Nora Fatehi in key roles.
