The much-anticipated period drama ‘Love & War’ by director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is scheduled for release in cinemas on India’s Republic Day weekend, specifically on Thursday, January 21, 2027. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, and Alia Bhatt in leading roles, the film has been described as Bhansali’s most ambitious romantic drama to date. The movie promises a grand cinematic experience with its expansive storyline and emotional depth, positioning it as a significant romantic spectacle in Indian cinema.

‘Love & War’ will be presented in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages, catering to a diverse audience across India. The film was officially unveiled in January 2024, marking Bhansali’s first collaboration with Vicky Kaushal and a reunion with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. Noteworthy for its star-studded cast and substantial budget, the project has generated considerable buzz, particularly due to its rumored wartime setting, though specific plot details have been kept under wraps. The film’s release date has sparked discussions within the industry, with speculation arising about potential box-office clashes with other big-budget productions.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s previous works include ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ for the big screen and his OTT debut ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,’ which featured a diverse ensemble cast. ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’ delved into the lives of Indian courtesans against the backdrop of the freedom struggle, offering a glimpse into the cultural tapestry of Heeramandi during the 1940s. The series is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
