Security forces in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district apprehended four valley-based insurgents, including members of banned outfits like the National Revolutionary Front of Manipur (NRFM), the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), and the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP). The arrested individuals, aged between 25 and 32, were involved in abduction activities and extorting money from various sectors of society. To combat such activities, security forces have intensified crackdowns on militant groups, setting up 117 checkpoints across Manipur and providing escorts to vehicles on key highways.
Strict security measures, including convoy protection, are being implemented in sensitive areas to ensure safe passage. Manipur Police have cautioned the public against believing and sharing unverified content on social media, urging them to verify information with the Central Control Room to avoid legal consequences. Additionally, the police have requested the return of any stolen weapons or explosives to the authorities for public safety.
