In response to a significant surrender of Maoists in Bastar, security forces have heightened search operations to uncover hidden stockpiles and contraband left by the insurgents. A joint operation in Dantewada district resulted in the discovery of a substantial cache of explosives and materials in the dense forest area of village Todma under Barsur Police Station limits. The recovered items include electric detonators, ammunition rounds, explosives, communication equipment, and various other materials believed to have been concealed by Maoist cadres.
Acting on precise intelligence, a team comprising the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Dantewada Police conducted the search operation with precision and caution. The recovered cache also included a country-made muzzle-loading rifle, batteries, camera flashes, urea powder, and Naxalite literature shedding light on the insurgents’ ideology. Authorities have initiated the legal process, including preparing a detailed seizure panchnama, in relation to the recovered items, highlighting the ongoing efforts to dismantle Naxalite infrastructure in the region.
The recovery of such a substantial cache underscores the scale of resources previously mobilized by the insurgents and emphasizes the importance of intelligence-driven operations in countering their influence. With the surrender of several cadres and the continuous recovery of hidden stockpiles, officials are optimistic that the fight against Left-Wing Extremism is progressing towards a decisive phase, aiming to establish lasting peace and development in the affected areas.
