Senior BJP leader R. Ashoka visited the hospital where workers injured in the Madappatna quarry tragedy in Bengaluru are being treated. Seven migrant laborers lost their lives in the incident at the Kaveri Crusher unit in Madappatna village. Ashoka criticized the state government for alleged negligence leading to the tragic event.
After meeting the injured workers and doctors, Ashoka emphasized the need for the victims to receive the best care possible. He expressed sorrow over the condition of the deceased, whose bodies were severely affected by the boulder collapse. Ashoka held the government responsible for failing to control illegal quarrying activities in the state.
Ashoka demanded compensation of Rs 50 lakh for the families of each deceased worker and Rs 10 lakh financial aid for the injured. He accused the government of negligence in preventing illegal quarrying activities and criticized the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board for inadequate monitoring. The BJP leader called for immediate arrests of those responsible for the tragedy.
