Senior BJP leader and Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari, is set to participate in the final session of the ‘Unnat Krishi Mahotsav 2026’ in Madhya Pradesh’s Raisen district. The three-day ‘Advanced Agriculture Festival 2026’ has showcased modern farming techniques and innovations, aiming to usher in a new era in agriculture. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the event host, emphasized the importance of the festival in promoting advanced and profitable farming practices.

The event, which commenced on April 11, witnessed the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, along with Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. Over the past three days, farmers have engaged with advanced farming methods, scientific practices, and market opportunities to enhance productivity and income. Exhibitions, training programs, and live demonstrations have been key features of the festival.

A significant aspect of the event was the unveiling of a special ‘Agricultural Road map’ for four districts of Madhya Pradesh by Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Developed by scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), the road map aims to guide farmers in adopting scientific crop selection methods based on soil quality, climate, and water availability. The shift towards data-driven farming is expected to boost yields and reduce costs, making agriculture more sustainable.

The road map also emphasizes crop diversification, integrated farming, and exploring allied sectors like animal husbandry and horticulture for additional income. Water conservation and soil health improvement are key focuses to address groundwater depletion and land degradation issues. A newly launched mobile application named ‘Soil’ will assist farmers in determining precise fertiliser and manure requirements based on soil conditions, enhancing farming efficiency.

The presence of Nitin Gadkari at the closing session and the inauguration by Rajnath Singh have garnered national attention for the event. Farmers are encouraged to attend the final day to gain insights and benefit from the innovations showcased at the fair.
