Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Pawan Khera criticized Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, urging his resignation due to alleged irregularities in the education sector. Khera highlighted issues such as the NEET question paper leak and CBSE evaluation discrepancies during a press conference in Odisha.
At the event titled “Chhatron Ki Goonj,” organized by the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee, Khera expressed concerns over student discontent regarding various examination irregularities nationwide. He accused Pradhan of neglecting his duties by focusing on activities like making reels on Yoga Day rather than addressing critical education matters.
Khera also questioned the effectiveness of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Pariksha Pe Charcha” initiative, criticizing the government’s failure to ensure a fair examination system. He emphasized the need for political unity in safeguarding students’ futures and addressing the challenges they face during exams like NEET.
The Congress leader demanded a thorough audit of the education system, from question paper printing to exam center logistics. He called for standardized schedules for exams and result declarations, highlighting the need to avoid using the armed forces for exam-related tasks. Khera warned of severe consequences if corrective actions are not promptly taken to address the issues raised.
