At least seven individuals, including a young girl and two tourists from Kerala, tragically lost their lives when a compound wall at Bowring Hospital in Bengaluru collapsed during severe weather conditions. The incident also left five women injured. Among the deceased were Mohammed Abdul Haq, Fayaz Ahmed, Musaveer Begum, Latha K. K., Smitha, M. D. Salauddin Ansari, and Naseemulla. The injured individuals included tourists from Kerala and locals from various regions.
The Chief Minister has announced compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the families of the deceased and has ensured free medical treatment for the injured. Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, the Chief Minister visited the hospital to oversee the medical care provided to the victims. Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah criticized the negligence that led to the tragedy and emphasized the importance of preventive measures to avoid such incidents in the future.
