Seven young individuals tragically lost their lives in a devastating road accident near M. Sathyavara village in Karnataka’s Bengaluru Rural district. The incident, which occurred on the Hoskote–Dabaspet National Highway, involved a canter truck, a motorcycle, and an XUV car.
Among the deceased are Ashwin Nayar (17), Arhaan Sharif (17), Ayaan Ali (17), Bharat (18), Ethan George (17), and a bike rider named Gagan. One victim remains unidentified. The students were on an early morning joyride when the accident took place.
The parents initially believed their children were seriously injured but were devastated to learn about their deaths upon reaching the hospital. Family members shared heartbreaking stories, with some mentioning that their loved ones were not even experienced drivers.
Gagan, a sole breadwinner for his visually impaired mother, was returning from work when the accident happened. The fatal collision, caused by overspeeding, involved the car hitting the bike and then colliding with the truck, leading to the tragic outcome.
The impact of the crash was so severe that the car was completely mangled. Investigations are ongoing to determine if the car driver was intoxicated during the incident. Police officials have attributed overspeeding as the primary cause of the accident and have shifted the bodies for post-mortem examinations.
