At least 89 people lost their lives, and 53 others were injured due to a severe thunderstorm, heavy rain, hailstorm, and lightning strikes in various districts of Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken note of the extensive damage caused and has instructed immediate relief and rescue measures to be implemented.

Expressing condolences to the affected families, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to visit the impacted areas promptly and provide necessary assistance and compensation to the victims. District Magistrates and other relevant officials have been instructed to conduct ground surveys urgently to facilitate the release of compensation for loss of lives, livestock, and crop damage.

In response to the calamity, the Chief Minister has mandated all districts to provide situation reports every three hours and prioritize rescue and relief operations. Additionally, he has emphasized the importance of sharing updates on compensation distribution and relief efforts through social media platforms for effective communication.

The adverse weather conditions have also led to the death of 114 livestock and damage to 87 houses across the state, as reported by the Relief Commissioner’s Office. Continuous monitoring of the situation is being carried out by the office through direct communication with district-level officials, with funds being released to the affected districts as necessary.

Several districts, including Prayagraj, Sant Ravidas Nagar, and Fatehpur, have reported significant casualties. Prayagraj recorded the highest number of fatalities, with 21 deaths, followed by other districts like Barabanki, Bahraich, and Kanpur Dehat also experiencing loss of life and property.
