In Balochistan’s Khuzdar district, Pakistani security forces conducted ground and air operations, resulting in a fatality due to shelling in the Wadh area. Military helicopters carried out strikes in multiple locations in the Surgarh area of Ornach, with ongoing ground and aerial operations in Wadh, Ornach, and Zehri. The intensified military operations have been targeting civilian areas in various parts of Balochistan.
The recent shelling incident in Khuzdar led to the death of one person and injuries to several others, including women and children. Local residents in the Drakhalaw-Gaslaiti area of Wadh staged a protest on a highway, condemning the shelling by Pakistani forces. The deceased, identified as Abdul Qadir, was placed at the protest site during the demonstration.
Amidst reports of atrocities against civilians in Balochistan, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee highlighted the extrajudicial killing of a 14-year-old student named Shehzad from the Paroom region in Panjgur district. The committee condemned the actions of Pakistan-backed death squads that operate with impunity, leading to the tragic killing of the student after a prolonged enforced disappearance.
The human rights body also accused Pakistani authorities, agencies, and state-backed death squads of violating all norms and targeting the Baloch community, including women and children. The Baloch Voice for Justice raised concerns over the disappearance of student activist Younas Baloch from Quetta, emphasizing the lack of information about his whereabouts. The ongoing atrocities in Balochistan by Pakistani forces have resulted in enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings, causing immense suffering to Baloch civilians.
