Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf, 39, was seen at Mardi Gras in New Orleans after being arrested earlier. He was observed dancing on Bourbon Street with revelers before the city officials ended the celebrations. Videos online show LaBeouf wearing Mardi Gras beads and holding jail release paperwork in his mouth as he mingled with the crowd.
The actor’s morning started with an arrest following an alleged altercation outside a Royal Street business. The New Orleans Police Department responded to a disturbance involving LaBeouf, where he reportedly assaulted two adult males. LaBeouf was accused of becoming increasingly aggressive and using closed fists on the victims.
According to reports, LaBeouf left the scene but returned, displaying more aggression. He allegedly assaulted another person by punching them in the nose. Bystanders intervened and restrained him until the police arrived. LaBeouf was then taken to a hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries and subsequently charged with two counts of simple battery as a misdemeanour.
The actor appeared in court virtually on Tuesday to address the charges brought against him.
