Shillong Lajong FC secured a 2-1 victory over Chanmari FC in the Indian Football League 2025-26 at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. Phrangki Buam’s two goals led Lajong to the top of the table with seven points from four matches, edging past Rajasthan United on goal difference.

Chanmari FC initially took the lead through Christo Kamei in the 16th minute, but Buam’s goals in injury time of both halves turned the game in favor of Shillong. The match saw remarkable saves from both goalkeepers in a fiercely contested encounter.

Despite Chanmari’s dominance in possession and attacking play, Lajong managed to equalize just before halftime. The second half witnessed missed opportunities from both sides before Buam sealed the win with a late goal, assisted by Jakob, securing a dramatic victory for Shillong.
