Actress Shilpa Shinde, known for her role as Angoori Bhabhi, has addressed the National Council For Men’s demand for her arrest. This comes after Shinde admitted that her 2016 sexual harassment accusations against the producer of ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!’ were false. Shinde expressed that only she truly understands the challenges she faced during that period.
She remarked that anyone in her position would likely have reacted similarly. Shinde emphasized that had the producer been arrested back then, something she strongly opposed due to it being a non-bailable offense, she would have insisted on her own arrest. She clarified her stance by stating, “He and I both know the truth of my experience. I do not owe explanations to anyone but aim to share my perspective with those unaware of it.”
Highlighting her point further, Shinde added, “Given the circumstances, most individuals would have acted as I did.” Before this, Shinde defended her choice to discuss the issue on social media. She asserted that she stands by her actions, unaffected by negative feedback. In a video on her Instagram, she mentioned being judged based on a single podcast clip without considering the full context.
In the same clip, Shinde disclosed, “My actions were not driven by financial gain. I had already departed from the show and accepted unwarranted blame. Post ‘Bigg Boss’, I encountered a man who shared how my journey inspired him to persevere after his father’s wrongful accusation-induced suicide.”
