The party attributed the mass agitation to remarks by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, who allegedly referred to unemployed youth as “cockroaches.” The editorial emphasized the resilience of the youth who, despite facing challenges like joblessness and lack of dignity, are now taking a stand and seeking justice. It mentioned that the Prime Minister and his government are beginning to fear the growing influence of these protesting youths.
The editorial also mentioned environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike at Jantar Mantar as a significant moment in the movement. Criticizing the ruling party’s response to Wangchuk’s protest, it highlighted the spread of demonstrations beyond the national capital to cities like Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur.
