Shiv Sena MLA Abdul Sattar claimed that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers are attempting to undermine the Eknath Shinde-led party at the district level. Sattar criticized the BJP, stating that such actions are like “slow poison” aimed at weakening the alliance. He highlighted that instead of collaborating, the BJP is sidelining Shiv Sena to consolidate power for themselves.
Sattar emphasized the importance of the BJP reflecting on their actions, considering that Shiv Sena are their alliance partners, not adversaries. He expressed concerns that the alleged attempts to weaken Shiv Sena in various districts could have a detrimental impact on the alliance, particularly in ‘Marathwada’. Sattar also noted the loss of several institutions that were previously under Shiv Sena’s control.
The MLA pointed out the gradual erosion of power from Shiv Sena, despite having significant representation in terms of MLAs and MPs. He raised issues within the MahaYuti alliance, including the NCP, which were not apparent during the initial years of their rule. Sattar stressed the need for alliance partners to support each other rather than weaken one another for personal gain.
Sattar disclosed that the concerns were brought to the attention of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for further discussion at the party level. He urged immediate action if BJP workers are indeed working against Shiv Sena’s interests at the grassroots level. Sattar highlighted the importance of addressing any mistakes promptly to avoid negative repercussions in future elections.
