At least six laborers lost their lives when a part of an under-construction well collapsed in Biharpurwa village, Panna district, Madhya Pradesh. The incident occurred while the laborers were working inside the well, leading to a rescue operation by local authorities. Three workers were rescued, but two to three remained trapped under the debris.
Rescue efforts continued for hours, with the police and district administration swiftly responding to the scene. The tragic incident caused panic in the village as locals rushed to help, and heavy machinery was used to clear the debris. All six laborers, who were from the same Yadav family and had been working on the well, were confirmed dead.
Former state BJP chief Vishnudutt Sharma expressed deep sorrow over the accident and extended condolences to the victims’ families. He directed authorities to expedite rescue and relief operations and promised further assistance. Sharma also pledged to raise the issue with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav for additional support measures.
