A sleeper bus traveling from Jaipur to Bikaner caught fire after colliding with a stationary trailer in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district at around 5:15 a.m. in the Shri Dungargarh area. The bus and all passenger belongings were completely destroyed in the blaze. Fortunately, all passengers were safely evacuated, preventing a major tragedy.
The bus driver sustained injuries in the accident and was taken to Bikaner for further treatment after receiving first aid. Eyewitnesses described a truck colliding with a trailer on the National Highway, leading to the stationary trailer that the bus crashed into. The impact caused the front of the bus to catch fire rapidly, causing panic among passengers.
Despite the automatic locking system activating and trapping passengers inside, locals managed to open the emergency exit at the rear of the bus, ensuring the safe rescue of all onboard. Traffic on the national highway was disrupted for about two hours following the accident. Multiple fire engines were deployed to control the fire, which eventually consumed the sleeper bus, the trailer, and all passenger possessions.
