Peter Pellegrini, President of the Slovak Republic, visited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to commend the well-organized India AI Impact Summit 2026. Describing the meeting as a significant moment for Slovakia–India relations, both leaders discussed enhancing cooperation in various sectors like trade, investment, digital technologies, defense, space, energy, and culture. The Ministry of External Affairs reported that the leaders acknowledged the positive momentum in relations due to the India-EU FTA and the India-EU Joint Comprehensive Strategic Agenda 2030.
Pellegrini emphasized the historic nature of the meeting, being the first reception of a Slovak Head of State, underscoring the importance of the event for Slovakia–India ties. He praised the summit for bringing together leaders, innovators, and businesses to responsibly scale AI and promote global collaboration. The President stressed the need to democratize AI for the benefit of all, not just a select few, after discussing concrete outcomes in trade, investment, innovation, technology, and talent cooperation with PM Modi.
The India AI Impact Summit 2026, themed ‘Welfare for all, happiness of all,’ aims to position India as an AI leader, envisioning a future where AI advances humanity, fosters inclusive growth, and protects the planet. Organized around seven Working Groups focused on People, Planet, and Progress, the summit targets delivering tangible results showcasing AI’s impact across various sectors. With the participation of over 500 Global AI Leaders, including CEOs, Founders, Academicians, Researchers, CTOs, VPs, and Philanthropists, the event also engages government representatives, Heads of State, Ministers, and Vice Ministers.
