Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Ajendra Singh Lodhi is facing backlash for making distasteful remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP leaders from his constituency have filed a case against him under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for his derogatory comments during a protest outside the District Collector’s office. The SP lawmaker allegedly called the Prime Minister “anti-national” and made abusive remarks, leading to strong protests from BJP members who demanded immediate action against him.
The incident occurred when SP workers, including Ajendra Lodhi, were protesting issues like power cuts, water crisis, and alleged electoral malpractices. Lodhi’s comments, which crossed the line, triggered anger among BJP supporters who not only protested vigorously but also burned an effigy of the SP MP. A BJP delegation later approached the police and lodged a case against Lodhi, escalating the political tension in the region.
Amidst the escalating political turmoil, the Mahoba police are on high alert and have increased surveillance in the area to prevent any potential clashes between supporters of the two parties. The situation remains tense as the confrontation between the government and the Opposition intensifies following the police action against the SP MP.
