A tragic incident unfolded near Kottarakkara in Kerala as a speeding tipper truck crashed into a crowded bus stop, claiming three lives, including that of a school student. The victims were identified as Harilal (54), Parthip (15) from Carmel School, and Ajay Kumar (45) from Neeleswaram Mukonimukku.
The accident occurred early in the morning when the tipper truck, carrying soil, lost control while descending a slope at high speed. Eyewitnesses recounted how the truck collided with a motorcycle before plowing into the bus stop where students and passengers were waiting, causing the truck to overturn and trap several individuals underneath.
Local residents, along with police and fire force personnel, swiftly initiated a rescue operation to extricate eight trapped individuals from under the truck and debris. Tragically, three people succumbed to their injuries before they could be transported to the hospital or upon arrival at the medical facility.
Several injured individuals, including students and the tipper driver, are currently receiving medical treatment at various hospitals in the region. The revelation that the driver lacked a license to operate heavy vehicles has sparked concerns regarding safety regulations, prompting authorities to investigate possible negligence or overspeeding as contributing factors to the accident.
