Bihar Special Task Force (STF) officials announced that coordinated operations from January to April this year have significantly impacted criminal and Naxalite networks in the state. These efforts led to 10 encounters, resulting in the deaths of three criminals and injuries to seven others. The STF’s actions have notably improved law and order and disrupted organized crime activities.
During the operations, key breakthroughs were highlighted, including the surrender of individuals like Suresh Koda and Deepak Pandey, who had significant bounties on their heads. These surrenders are seen as a major step towards dismantling Naxalite networks in Bihar. While Naxalite activities have been reduced, surveillance remains heightened in sensitive districts like Jamui, Lakhisarai, Gaya, and Aurangabad.
The STF also mentioned the surrender of a Naxalite who returned a weapon looted from the police. Additionally, the government provided financial assistance to the surrendered Naxalite’s family. The STF’s operations have targeted organized crime, including land mafias and illegal financial networks, with a focus on identifying criminal assets for further legal action.
Operations were not limited to specific areas, as the STF conducted special drives in border districts and seized significant amounts of narcotics. The use of drones and aerial monitoring has enhanced surveillance capabilities, leading to successful raids and arrests. The STF’s efforts have resulted in actions against heinous crimes, capacity building through training programs, and crackdowns on cybercrime activities, ultimately contributing to maintaining law and order in Bihar.
