Veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai recently reminisced about his passion for cinema and the influential filmmakers who shaped his artistic journey. He shared on social media how he used to skip school and college to watch movies by Indian cinema legends like Raj Kapoor, Guru Dutt, and others. Ghai posted a collage featuring these filmmakers who inspired him, emphasizing the impact of discussing and remembering films as markers of quality and classic cinema.

Subhash Ghai expressed his deep admiration for these filmmakers, highlighting how their works served as his informal education in Indian filmmaking before he pursued formal training at FTII Film School Pune. Despite his inclination towards commercial cinema in Mumbai, Ghai always held a special reverence for his cinematic idols. His career spanning five decades has produced iconic films such as Karz, Ram Lakhan, Khal Nayak, Pardes, and Taal, solidifying his status as a celebrated figure in Bollywood. Additionally, Ghai is recognized for launching stars like Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Seshadri in the industry.
