Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have received a boost in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) as their captain, Pat Cummins, has passed his fitness test. Cummins, who arrived in India before the season, had to undergo a back scan in Australia after SRH’s win over Kolkata Knight Riders on April 2.
The scans in Sydney confirmed Cummins’ recovery from the injury, allowing him to rejoin competitive cricket. The Australian all-rounder is aiming to make a comeback on April 25 when SRH plays against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur.
Having been absent since the Ashes series, Cummins’ return is eagerly awaited by SRH. In his absence, Ishan Kishan has been leading the team, with SRH currently standing in fourth place on the points table with a net run rate of +0.576.
SRH recently defeated Rajasthan Royals with a strong bowling performance by debutants Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain. The team will now face Chennai Super Kings at their home ground in Hyderabad on Saturday.
