The Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, has responded to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s claims regarding the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Adhikari described Banerjee’s allegations as baseless and exaggerated, aimed at disrupting the electoral process.
Adhikari emphasized that the accusations made by Banerjee were an attempt to hinder the correction of voter list discrepancies. He highlighted the presence of fake entries, duplicates, and infiltrators in the voter rolls, which he attributed to the previous administration’s negligence.
In a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner, Adhikari criticized Banerjee’s assertions as a desperate move to impede the SIR process. He praised the Election Commission for its impartial conduct and urged the Commission to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process in West Bengal.
