The Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, will head a six-member delegation to the Bangladesh Deputy Commission to address the recent lynching of Dipu Chandra Das, a Hindu garment worker, and the atrocities against minorities under Muhammad Yunus’ regime. The delegation, excluding state BJP leaders, will include representatives from the Hindu saint society. Adhikari confirmed the appointment for the second half of Friday.
The delegation members, including Sarbananda Abadhut, Mahakal Giri, Sanjay Shastri, Sanjay Hela, and Krishna Mataji from the Hindu saint society, will seek information from the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission on the actions taken by the Yunus government after Dipu Chandra Das’ murder in Mymensingh. The delegation aims to understand the steps taken against the perpetrators and the support provided to the victim’s family.
Following a demonstration led by Adhikari in front of the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata, an appointment for the delegation was secured for the second half of Friday. The demonstration highlighted the need for justice after the brutal killing of Das and the ongoing atrocities against minorities under Yunus’ rule. The public outcry has spread across various cities, denouncing the targeted attacks on minorities in Bangladesh.
