The Tamil Nadu Assembly elections are scheduled for April 23, featuring a total of 4,023 candidates vying for seats in all 234 constituencies. The electoral contest has evolved into a multi-cornered battle, with key contenders such as the DMK, AIADMK, NTK, and TMC in the forefront. Over 5.73 crore voters are eligible to participate in this election, with efforts underway to achieve maximum voter turnout.
Political activities have intensified as the polling day approaches, with prominent leaders crisscrossing the state to rally support for their parties and candidates. Leaders like Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, NTK Chief Coordinator Seeman, and TVK leader Vijay are actively engaging in campaign activities. The high-energy campaign is slated to conclude on April 21 at 5 p.m., with leaders organizing final events in crucial constituencies.
Post the conclusion of campaigning, the Election Commission will focus on polling arrangements, with 75,064 polling booths being set up across Tamil Nadu for a seamless voting process. The distribution of EVMs to these booths has begun under stringent security measures, along with the delivery of booth slips to voters for easy access to polling stations. With administrative preparations in full swing, Tamil Nadu is poised for a significant electoral showdown that will influence the state’s political landscape for the next five years.
