Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin briefly paused his intense election campaign to attend an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 match at Chennai’s M.A. Chidambaram Stadium. The match featured the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) against the Delhi Capitals (DC).
Stalin, also the DMK President, shared his IPL 2026 experience on social media, highlighting CSK’s performance. He mentioned CSK opener Sanju Samson’s century and expressed missing his favorite cricketer, MS Dhoni, during the game.
Despite the break, Chief Minister Stalin continues his aggressive campaign for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections on April 23. He aims for a victory with the DMK-led alliance securing more than 200 seats, challenging AIADMK’s Edappadi K. Palaniswami.
Stalin’s presence at the IPL match aimed to engage with a diverse audience, including young voters, amidst a competitive election landscape. His campaign efforts involve unique strategies like riding the Chennai Metro, emphasizing the “Dravidian Model 2.0” to voters.
