Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin defended his government’s handling of employee protests, emphasizing that they did not resort to harsh actions like arrests or draconian laws. He contrasted his approach with the previous administration, accusing them of arresting and detaining protesting government staff. Stalin also criticized the former Chief Minister for his derogatory comments on employee salaries.
The Chief Minister highlighted the fulfillment of a longstanding demand for an assured pension scheme by government employees, noting their positive reception of this initiative. He alleged that the opposition was uncomfortable with the employees’ happiness over welfare measures implemented by the current government. Stalin assured that his government would address genuine demands raised through protests by engaging with protestors and discussing their issues.
