Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay expressed deep sorrow over the loss of several Indian tourists, including individuals from Tamil Nadu, in a tragic boat incident off Vietnam’s coast. Efforts are underway by the state government, in collaboration with the Union government and Indian diplomatic authorities, to aid the affected and repatriate the deceased.
The Chief Minister conveyed his condolences to the families affected by the heartbreaking accident that occurred as a tourist boat carrying Indian visitors to Hon May Rut Ngoai Island capsized. He assured full support from the Tamil Nadu government during this challenging time and instructed officials to gather information on all Tamil Nadu residents involved.
Vijay directed state officials to closely liaise with authorities in New Delhi, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the Indian Embassy in Vietnam to oversee relief operations promptly. He emphasized the importance of maintaining constant communication with diplomatic channels to ensure timely medical care for the injured and support for all affected Tamil Nadu residents.
Efforts are being made to expedite the repatriation of the deceased through the Indian Embassy, enabling their families in Tamil Nadu to conduct the final rites swiftly. The Chief Minister affirmed the state government’s commitment to assisting the affected families and working in conjunction with the Government of India to provide necessary aid.
Vijay expressed his deepest sympathies to the families of the deceased and wished a swift recovery to those injured in the tragic boat accident.
