In a significant move, the Tamil Nadu government has transferred and appointed various Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers in key departments and districts. The reshuffle involved district collectors, departmental secretaries, commissioners, and heads of state-run corporations.
E. Sundaravalli, the former Commissioner of Collegiate Education, has been reassigned as Special Secretary to the Government in the Public and Rehabilitation Department. R. Lalitha, who previously served as Managing Director of New Tiruppur Area Development Corporation Limited, is now the Secretary to the Government in the Finance Department.
Several district collectors have also been reassigned to new roles within the Finance Department. For instance, A.K. Kamal Kishore and M.S. Prasanth are now Joint Secretaries in the Finance Department, while R. Alagumeena has been appointed Deputy Secretary to the Government in the Health and Family Welfare Department.
Pooja Kulkarni, the Chief Executive Officer of the Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Development Board, has been designated as the Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise. Other appointments include V. Amuthavalli as Commissioner of Rural Development, P. Ponniah as Commissioner of Collegiate Education, and Dr. T.G. Vinay as Commissioner of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments.
