Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, P.K. Sekarbabu, criticized the AIADMK leadership, accusing them of lacking originality and merely copying initiatives introduced by the ruling DMK government. Sekarbabu highlighted that the AIADMK’s political strategy revolves around replicating DMK schemes and slightly increasing their scale. He emphasized that the AIADMK general secretary, Edappadi K Palaniswami, has not shown independent thinking.
Sekarbabu also responded to recent remarks by former state BJP president K Annamalai, who criticized the DMK’s election promises using a Telugu proverb. In return, the minister quoted another Telugu proverb questioning the need to criticize when there are more critical issues at hand. He suggested that Annamalai should establish his credibility before questioning the government’s policies.
The minister conducted a thorough review of development projects by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority, including the upgrade of various streets and the inspection of a new public complex. Sekarbabu mentioned ongoing projects like the redevelopment of sports complexes and bus terminuses, aiming to complete and open around 40 projects for public use before the elections. Additionally, he announced the inauguration of 770 housing units near Government Stanley Medical College and Hospital by Chief Minister M K Stalin.
