The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leadership has cautioned party MLA Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao about refraining from further indiscipline. TDP state president Palla Srinivas, representing the party’s national president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, issued a stern warning to Rao during a meeting on Thursday. The party expressed serious concern over Tiruvuru MLA’s actions targeting fellow party members despite prior warnings.
Palla Srinivas emphasized to Rao that no individual holds precedence over the party and highlighted that without the party, his individual standing diminishes. The MLA was reprimanded for controversial social media posts made by him and his supporters that targeted other leaders. It was stressed that such conduct was detrimental to the party’s public image.
The TDP state president conveyed Chandrababu Naidu’s grave concern on the matter, cautioning Rao that failure to rectify his behavior could lead to the party withdrawing recognition of his MLA status. Rao acknowledged his mistake, attributing it to inexperience, and assured the party of his commitment to amend his conduct in the future. Seeking guidance from senior leaders, he pledged to make necessary changes.
Rao has been embroiled in significant disagreements with certain TDP leaders, including party MP Kesineni Chinni. Since his election in 2024 from Tiruvuru constituency in NTR district, Rao has been a focal point of controversies and has received repeated warnings from the party leadership. Notably, last year he appeared before the party’s disciplinary committee due to his actions.
