In response to the orange alert issued by the Meteorological Department for various Telangana districts, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy urged officials to stay vigilant regarding the rain situation. He instructed officials to enhance arrangements at paddy procurement centers and expedite procurement operations to prevent stored paddy from getting wet. The Chief Minister also advised the public to be cautious due to the warning of strong gusty winds.
People experiencing a heatwave in recent days found relief as rains hit several places on Tuesday night, bringing a pleasant change in weather in Hyderabad and other districts. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for multiple districts, forecasting light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds in various areas. Notably, Devarakadara in Mahabubnagar district received the highest rainfall of 136.6 mm within a 12-hour period.
Several regions in Telangana, including Mahabubnagar, Vikarabad, and Sangareddy districts, witnessed varying levels of rainfall, with some areas recording significant precipitation. In Greater Hyderabad, multiple areas reported light to moderate rains, offering respite from the prevailing heatwave conditions. The weather department’s warnings and alerts remain in place to ensure preparedness and safety measures are in effect.
