Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy organized a rally in Kodangal to protest the detention of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi in New Delhi. The Chief Minister, along with party members, marched through Kodangal town carrying Congress flags and banners, culminating in a dharna near the Ambedkar statue. Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders were detained during a protest against paper leaks and student-related issues outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, addressing the dharna, criticized the detention of top Congress leaders, calling it an attack on democracy. He accused Prime Minister Modi and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan of jeopardizing students’ futures. Revanth Reddy demanded Pradhan’s removal from the Union Cabinet, warning of continued protests if the demand is not met.

The Chief Minister alleged that the NEET exam paper was being sold in BJP-ruled states for large sums of money and accused BJP leaders of involvement in the leak. He highlighted nationwide student demands for Pradhan’s resignation and punishment for those responsible for the leak. Revanth Reddy claimed that students protesting in Delhi were subjected to police lathi charges, resulting in injuries to hundreds, with some students reportedly missing.

Revanth Reddy criticized the detention and alleged mistreatment of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi during their peaceful protest, describing it as an infringement on the right to protest. He accused PM Modi of pressuring Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to halt discussions on the NEET paper leak in Parliament. Revanth Reddy emphasized the legacy of sacrifice within the Gandhi family, citing the examples of former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi.

The Chief Minister labeled the BJP as the ‘British Janata Party’ and accused its leaders of following in the footsteps of Nathuram Godse, Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin. He positioned the conflict as one between the legacies of Godse and Gandhi, expressing confidence in the BJP’s defeat in the upcoming elections and predicting Rahul Gandhi’s ascent to Prime Ministership.
